Idia'Dega, what does the name mean?
Idia means "Mother of the Queen" it is from the Nigeria/Benin area of West Africa. 'Dega is a shortened version of Diondega the Seneca Native American name for Pittsburgh.
*Personal note: Idia is Tereneh's middle name, it was given to her by a family friend, a dancer from Sierra Leone, at the time of her birth in the city of Pittsburgh.

BIO
Idia'Dega's founder and Creative Director is Tereneh Idia Mosley. Tereneh is inspired by sustainable materials and how Indigenous adornment can be incorporated into contemporary clothing. Tereneh studied design in Kenya through a Rotary Fellowship and in addition to designing is on the faculty of Parsons in New York City.
